Collision Risk Detection

Audi pre sense® is designed to detect collisions before they even occur. Depending on your specific Audi model, this technology takes several preemptive actions if a collision risk is detected. The Basic version activates above 20 miles per hour during emergency maneuvers to tension seatbelts, adjust seats, and close the panoramic roof. Some Audi models come standard with the City or Front variations. In these versions, the technology initiates a tiered response to forward hazards:

·       Pre-Warning: The instrument cluster displays a visual alert and an audio signal sounds to warn you of detected dangers.

·       Acute Warning: If a crash is imminent, the system briefly applies the brakes to grab your attention.

·       Automatic Braking: If you do not react to the alerts, the vehicle can automatically increase braking force to reduce the impact speed.

Rear Impact Detection

In addition to the forward-facing protection, Audi pre sense® also includes available rear sensors located at the back corners of your vehicle. These sensors calculate the probability of a rear-end collision and initiate similar preemptive safety measures if another driver is approaching too quickly.
